Linnea learned about Bright Line Eating from a friend after sharing her food struggles. At first, it felt too scary and too big, so she continued relying on her own strategies. Like many people, she tried numerous diets, programs, and workouts over the years. While she sometimes experienced small success, the weight always returned.
The Limits of Intuitive Eating
Linnea decided to try Intuitive Eating after seeing a friend’s success. She followed the program exactly, allowing herself to eat any food whenever she was hungry. But instead of freedom, her food addiction intensified. In just 45 days, she gained 30 pounds. She realized with certainty that food addiction was real, and nothing she had tried had worked.
Starting Bright Line Eating
Recognizing she was in an extreme situation, Linnea saw Bright Line Eating as her last-ditch effort. She signed up for 14 days, read all the prep material in one day, went grocery shopping, and started the program the following morning. She reluctantly took before photos but committed to keeping her lines bright and shiny.
Finding Strength and Faith
Initially, Linnea worked on the program mostly alone, leaning into her faith. She prayed for strength and repeatedly used mantras such as, “An alcoholic can’t have one drink—you can’t have one bite,” and, “Hunger is not an emergency. No one ever died of hunger between two meals.”
Discovering Community Support
After some time, Linnea started an Instagram page to document her journey, which connected her to an amazing group of fellow Bright Line Eating members. Joining the community and mastermind groups elevated her success, providing encouragement, accountability, and support she had not experienced before.
Achieving Lasting Weight Loss
After 352 days of following Bright Line Eating, Linnea released 90 pounds and entered maintenance. This weight was 10 pounds less than she had ever imagined being as an adult. More importantly, she finally found freedom from obsessive food thoughts and shame.
Living a Life Free From Food Obsession
Before Bright Line Eating, Linnea’s mind was consumed by food—planning her next “fix” while eating and feeling incredible shame afterward. Today, she enjoys boundaries with food, eats nutritious and healthful meals in the correct quantities, and fully enjoys every bite. She credits the program, the community, and her perseverance for achieving lasting food sobriety and balance.
