Hey there. It's Dr. Susan Peirce Thompson and this is an emergency vlog coming out on a weird day. It's Tuesday, not typically vlog day, but this is Tuesday, the 14th of April, 2026. And that means it is one week exactly to the day till the book Maintain is published. And I got a lot to tell you because we are doing so many fun things related to the launch of this book, things that are fun and free, and you are going to want to know about them. The main thing I just want to say is we have created an event page to tell you all about it.
But first I just need to mention, I know that you're thinking April 21st, 2026, but that's the 10-year anniversary of Prince's death and passing. How could that possibly be your book launch date, Susan? Did you plan that? I did not. Hay House gave me that, well suggested that publication day and it rang a bell. I said April 21st. And then I realized it was the 10 year anniversary of Prince's death. I know that that's what y'all will be thinking about on that day but let me just sneak in that it is also the publication day of the book Maintain.
So okay, why Maintain? What's the book about? What's the purpose of it? I just want to say that around here at Bright Line Eating® we help people lose weight and keep it off. And Maintenance is the whole point. It's the linchpin because if you can't maintain your weight loss, you're dieting. You're just losing weight, regaining it, losing weight again. You're on the dieting yo-yo roller coaster. It's miserable and you feel like a failure. There's no joy or thrill in losing weight if you just gain it back again. I mean, there's temporary joy and thrill, but then long-term misery and distress and demoralization and depression, it's awful to do that over and over again. So, what's missing from the equation is Maintenance and the Maintenance mindset and the deep identity shifts that are needed to become someone who will keep their weight off. There are three identity shifts. You've got to become devoted, resourced, and liberated, and that's what this book is about. I've done it. You can do it. Lots of people in Bright Line Eating are doing it. Devoted. Resourced. Liberated.
First and foremost, there is an event page. There's a link down below. Be sure you click on that and check out what we've got available for you. We're doing a launch party on book launch day, that's Tuesday, April 21st. We're then starting a deep dive book study. This is a workshop. There's going to be a workbook associated with it. And, of course, you're going to want to have the book itself to go through that workshop. It's in three parts about getting devoted, getting resourced, and getting liberated. This is the inner work that's needed to be someone who will keep their weight off long term to learn how to maintain. Now, that's available for the public. That's for anyone and everyone. For Bright Lifers™ƒ in particular, for each of those pieces, the devoted, resourced, and liberated, we're also having a for Bright Lifers only deep dive Q&A and coaching session with me so we can go deeper together on those concepts and I can support you as you do the work to figure out what needs to be unlocked for you to succeed with Maintenance.
In addition to that, we've got some other events for Bright Lifers only. We've got some readings of the book and they're actually going to be like group discussions. My coaching staff and I have combed through this book and selected some really key passages that I'm going to read out loud and then we're going to have a discussion based on Maintenance because everybody's experience in Maintenance is a little bit different. We have hundreds and thousands of people in Bright Lifers who have their own experience with the Maintenance journey. So, that's going to be super fun. We're also doing a Maintenance showcase for Bright Lifers. All of it's on the event page. So, click on the link, go to the event page and check it out.
You're going to want to register for these events because that's how you're going to get the link to the Zoom room so you can attend. If you're a Bright Lifer, the Zoom links are going to be in your Hub, but you're also going to want to register for the events because that's how you'll get the emails for the replays and the reminder emails and all of that. So, it's going to be important. Go ahead and register. Then look closely at the event page. You'll find a link to pre-order your copy of the book if you haven't done that already. You're going to want to pre-order the book and then there's also some pre-order bonuses that are going to be fun for you to download. So, if you haven't gotten the book already, make sure you pre-order that so that it'll be delivered on publication day and you'll be ready to go.
During book launch week on social media, we're going to be using some hashtags. The two hashtags are #Maintainbook and #JointheMaintenanceMovement. What's cool about those hashtags is if you use them in Instagram, your post will automatically get fed onto the event page. Check out the event page. There's a place for social media posts. You can get your post there just by using those hashtags in Instagram. And if you use social media platforms other than Instagram, that's great too. Make your post creative, use those hashtags. My team and I are going to be scouring social media, finding creative posts, finding interesting posts, just finding posts in general. You might win a call from me. We're going to be reaching out to you, asking for your phone number if you want to call from Susan Peirce Thompson. And I might call you just to say hi and get to know you a little bit, which is fun. I just like getting to know the community. Book launch week is always ... It's like the highlight of my life, honestly. It's just such a sweet time to celebrate what this community has achieved together and how we're serving the world, how we're helping the world. So, just use those hashtags all week long and watch the fun and celebration escalate in our community.
And then of course, once you get the book, be sure to leave an Amazon review or Goodreads Review. All the reviews, they all help. It'd be amazing if you could leave an Amazon review for the book, if you like it. No pressure, but that would be awesome. So, we're going to be doing a lot of fun stuff, fun, free, all for you, all to celebrate the journey of Maintenance. It's one thing to lose weight. It's another thing entirely to keep it off. I'm now 23 years in Maintenance and we have people in Bright Line Eating who are 11 years in Maintenance. They started Bright Line Eating in 2014, hit Maintenance in 2015 and are still maintaining 11 years later. This thing works and it works because we focus on Maintenance. That is going to be the theme of April. We've got a lot of events. Click below to see the event page, get registered for those events, and I will see you there.
